Stamper's by the Dozen August Hop - Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Welcome to our new and exciting blog hop - Stamper's By the Dozen!  We are a newly founded group of 12 Stampin' Up Demonstrators who will be hopping each month to a different theme!  We hope that you will join us in viewing our blogs each month and seeing all our great projects.

Our first theme is Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!  The 2017 Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog is in preorder status for us Demonstrators and goes live to all our customers on September 1st!  While I can't show you the inside of the catalog, take a look at the cover! Isn't it beautiful?!  Normally the Holiday Catalog doesn't spark my interest as much but this catalog is wonderful and there truly is something for everyone!

Normally the Holiday Catalog doesn't spark my interest very much but this catalog is wonderful and there truly is something for everyone!  For my hop project this month, I wanted to highlight a stamp set called Christmas in the Making.  When I first saw this set, I knew I had to get it.  Not only because the artwork looks like 50's ladies, but because I knew they would be perfect for water coloring!

For me, it's too early to start working on Christmas projects especially since it was 98 degrees here in Tucson today!  I wanted to highlight this project but also show how it could be used for a different occasion.

This card would be perfect to give to someone for a birthday!  I wanted to do something with non traditional colors and the Quilted Christmas 6x6 Designer Series Paper showcases other colors that can go along with traditional red and green!

For the chevrons at the bottom of the card, I used the Work of Art stamp set with Real Red paper and coordinating ink together to do a tone on tone stamping look.  I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder as well as the Stitched Shaped Framelits to add some texture.  For the lady,  I stamped here on watercolor paper and colored her with watercolor pencils, then used our Aqua Painter to make those colors come alive!  I love how this can be used in many different settings and the cat is so cute!
